NEWSOM’S SMOKED COUNTRY SAUSAGE

Meal one-Breakfast • Sausage Quiche (recipe) • Fried apples (recipe) • Hashbrown potatoes •

Recipe-Sausage Quiche • 1 cup milk • 3/4 cup bisquick • 1/2 to 3/4# Newsom’s Smoked Sausage • few dashes pepper • 1/4 cup diced oinion optional • 1 cup grated mild cheddar cheese • Grease pie plate. Fry sausage and onions,optional, together in skillet. Drain. Pour into pie plate. Mix milk, bisquick, pepper, and 1/2 the cheese together. Pour over meat in pie plate. Top with remaining cheese. Bake at 375 for approximately 20 minutes. Great. Easy for entertaining company for breakfast.

Fried Apples • 5 red or golden delicious apples, sliced • 1/2 teaspoon margarine, optional • 1/2 cup water • 1/4 cup brown sugar • 1/4 cup white sugar • Place sliced apples in skillet. Add margarine and water. Cover and cook slowly for 10 minutes. Add sugar and cook on medium high heat, stirring and tossing until apples are thoroughly cooked. Cook until liquid from apples and water is gone.

Meal Two-Sausage • Sausage and Wild Rice (recipe) • Green beans • Corn pudding or Whole kernel corn • rolls • Water • coffee

Wild Rice and Sausage Bake • 1- 10 oz.package wild rice • 1# Newsom’s Hickory Smoked Sausage • 1/2 cup chopped onoins • 1/4 cup butter or margarine • 1 tablespoon flour • 2/3 cup evaporated milk • 1/4 teaspoon pepper • 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms • Cook 10oz. package of wild rice as directed. Set aside. Fried sausage, chopping into pieces as it cooks. Drain. Blend and simmer onions and mushrooms in butter or margarine. Set aside. Sprinkle flour over sausage and mix. Add wild rice, salt, pepper. Pour into greased baking dish. Bake at 305 degrees approximately 20-25 minutes.

Meal Three • John’s Grilled Sausage • Boston Baked Beans • Corn on the Cob • Hash brown potatoes • Rolls • Iced Tea

John’s Grilled Sausage • Simply wrap bacon around the sausage patty. Secure with toothpick and grill until done, using your favorite grilling marinate for basting. A new twist to the cooking of sausage.
