Locally, the homemade version of this candy is a team effort, requiring two candymakers to pull the concoction into a pliable form after the liquid is poured from a boiling pot onto a cold marble slab and begins to wax. Pulling cream candy is an art passed from generation to generation. The marble slabs are even handed down in family wills. "Mom" Blakeman's pulled candy was established in 1961 as a family business and remains family owned and operated.
