New From Newsom’s … A Summer Sampler
Summer appetites are calling and the Newsom’s crew is listening. We invite you to try the selections in our new Summer Sampler. Select a mix of ham steaks, sliced prosciutto, mini-hocks, biscuit ham slices and our smoky bacon.
A couple of ham steaks, center or large breakfast slice, at about 1/4-inch thick would be perfect for a special breakfast of scrambled eggs and cheesy hash browns, a tomato pie and casserole brunch or a super supper with sweet peas, sweet potatoes (mashed or country crisped) and raisin pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Newsom’s own traditional Kentucky-aged prosciutto is a prime age at 18 months now (June). This 2019 prosciutto thinly sliced in our deli will be perfect with melons, topping salads or pizzas, as part of your favorite hors d’oeuvres or the secret taste ingredient in some very special summer sandwiches.
If you plan white beans with your fish fry, there is no better seasoning than our country ham mini-hocks. About a pound and a half each, they are perfect for those “soup beans,” split pea soup or a pot of fresh greens.
Our country ham biscuit slices are just what you have been looking for biscuits, sandwiches or just a taste of that delicious, traditional Newsom’s smokehouse flavor. They are sliced about 1/8-inch thick and perfect for a breakfast biscuit or rolls for your brunch.
Newsom’s hearty hickory smoked country bacon is perfect for your special BLT’s, and of course, all those favorite bacon recipes.
As the weather warms up this spring and summer it becomes too hot to ship our breakfast sausage economically. So we’re offering this new summer mix of your favorite flavors from Newsom’s….
