Country Ham...Smokehouse aged, naturally cured, a Kentucky ham handcrafted by "the Ham Lady"... Newsom's crafts a traditional smokehouse country ham and an aged prosciutto type ham. Newsom's ham was honored to participate in the 5th World Congress of Dry Cured Hams in Aracena, Spain, in May '09 and a two-year-old Newsom's ham was encased for continuing display in the Jamon Museum there... the only ham in the United States of America to be invited.

Among the finest dry-cured hams the world has to offer, Newsom's authentic aged Kentucky country ham is a gourmet and country delicacy. Newsom's also offers smoked sausage, smoked bacon, preserves, breakfast mixes, sorghum molasses, dressings, relish, cookbooks from the Amish and others, pure unprocessed honey, gourmet pickled vegetables, candies and cobbler in a jar. Selections from the many popular items at our working country store are available through our internet store or by contacting us personally. We assure the appropriate flavor by withholding sale of our aged ham until we feel maximum flavor is attained. Our prime concern is to create an authentic, traditional flavorful ham for you. Ambient weather cured in LIMITED numbers and NITRATE FREE, our hams are not mass produced or wholesaled, which would risk losing the flavor sought by true ham connoisseurs. Care and time (nature's own) is of the essence when performing this vanishing art of naturally cured aged country ham.

Newsom's Old Mill Store and Col. Bill Newsom's Aged Country Hams are owned and operated by Nancy Newsom Mahaffey, "the Ham Lady."

Newsom's was established January 1, 1917, by H.C. Newsom, Nancy's grandfather. The business is now in year 101.
